Signs You May Have Restless Legs Syndrome

What actually comes to your mind when you hear the term “Restless Legs Syndrome?” The term is closely associated with pains in the legs. Restless legs syndrome is a sleep disorder which causes an irresistible urge to move the legs. This syndrome is as a result of an individual lying in bed or sitting for a long period of time, having no time to walk.
If you’re one of those who finds it difficult to walk around for some ample reasons, then you may be faced with this challenge. When this happens, those with RLS are then desirous to walk around so that they could shake their legs to help relieve them of the pains.

Of course, there are triggers of the condition you may want to avoid, too. These triggers include drugs such as antihistamine, antidepressants, and anti-nausea drugs. Individuals with restless legs sensation have uncomfortable sensations in their legs and have the irresistible urge to move their legs so that they can suppress the sensation.

    There is always a compelling urge to move your legs to relieve you of the uncomfortable sensations. People with Restless Legs Syndrome have the urge to move their legs which is accompanied by uncomfortable sensations such as tingling, throbbing, tugging, and itching.

 

 

  1. The Uncomfortable Pains Lessens When You Move
    If you notice that the uncomfortable sensations go away as you move, this is another sign that you’ve got Restless Legs Syndrome.

 

 

  1. Symptoms Worsen When You Are at Rest
    After the day’s activities, you definitely want to have a good rest. But when you notice that you have uncomfortable sensations in the legs, then you are probably battling RLS. This occurs when you are sitting. The longer you are at rest, the more severe the pains are.

 

 

  1. Symptoms Worsen When You Lie Down
    When you experience pains in the legs whenever you lie down, this is another criterium that you’ve got RLS. But if you feel your symptoms aren’t really that bad, this may not be RLS; you may be experiencing a different health condition.

 

 

  1. Symptoms Make It Difficult to Fall Asleep
    RLS makes it difficult for an individual to fall asleep. Periodic limb movements in sleep (PLMS) are associated with RLS, those who have RLS have complained about this. This can cause partial awakening that may disrupt sleep.

    When you are constantly at a loss or always unable to concentrate, be aware of this condition.
