Notable Nigerian female thespian Bukky Ajayi, 82, passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2016.
The news of her demise was made known by Kunle Fawole aka Abounce (actor and rapper), her son. He informed Nollywood website TNS, on the day the actress died. He said; "Mumsie passed away about thirty minutes ago. God knows best"
Another reliable source close to the veteran actress also confirmed Mrs Ajayi’s death, attributing the cause of death to “heart-related issues.”
The late Zainab Bukky Ajayi was born on February 2, 1934.
She worked at various times as an announcer, presenter and newscaster at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). She studied at the Stanislavsky Institute of Drama, London. She gained national prominence for her role in the hit Nigerian TV Series The Village Headmaster in the 1970s and subsequently went on to feature in several local and international films and movies.

A standing ovation had greeted the announcement of the 82-year-old actress, who was wheeled to the stage to receive her award.It would turn out to be her last public outing.
